Formwork vs Tally: versions, quizzes and resume against a very generous free plan
Tally gives away most of what other builders charge for: unlimited forms and submissions, logic, payments and file uploads. Formwork takes the opposite bet. Its free plan is smaller, and its edge is in publishing, quiz grading and respondent-side save and resume.

Who should pick which
Pick Tally if you want the most you can get for free, need payment collection, or want Google Sheets, Notion and Airtable connections without paying. Pick Formwork if you need server-side save and resume that works across devices, a real quiz mode with an answer key and manual grading, or immutable versions tied to each response. Tally's document-style editor is fast, and its free tier will cover many small teams for good. Where Tally is the better pick: a generous free plan with unlimited submissions, plus payments, signatures and a free API.
